D2D - I've gone and done it

Well having set myself the early season challenge of cycling from London to Paris, I decided that I needed something to aim for at the end of the season (it's all Graham's fault for setting goals last year).

So, I have decided that I am going to ride the Dusk till Dawn Solo !! My goal is only to finish, I don't care what position I am in - although not last would be a bonus. My entry is in, and ther are only 811 places left - right now I can't see any other Plumz guys entered.

So who else is up for Dusk till Dawn Solo - it would be great to have lot's of Plumz guys to chat too as you pass me.

For those of you that have seen the Tacx Imagic/Fortius, you can also buy Real Life Video's where you can ride on the trainer whilst viewing DVD quality footage..

Now a German guy has produced a guide to creating your own Real Life Video's. The translation is a bit dodgy, but it's got to be worth producing some of our own classic's?

http://www.carstenjost.de/dijg/howto/anleitung_en.html

The Wrist - A final update - Hopefully.

Well it seems a long time since that fateful night in March when I hit the fence, but on Monday I had an operation to remove the damaged cartilage in my wrist (which explains why I could only ride for about 30 minutes before being in pain). I am now not allowed to ride at all for 3-4 weeks, but hopefully by xmas I'll be properly back on the bike - looking forward to some Tuesday night rides again.

NCRA Round 1

Well I have done my first road race, so how did it go.

I started in the slowest group (naturally), but I am not sure how Brownie ended up in the same group as me, and even less sure have Graham ended up in the group starting 2.5 minutes later.

Just after two o'clock we were off - quite literally for some, as someone managed to fall off before he even started, it was just like to old Friday night races. Anyway we soon regrouped and set off trying to get as much time as possible on those behind - someone had told me these races started slowly, well not this one. Sure enough I was dropped after about 3 of the 30 miles, and then spent the next lap and a half hanging on to each group that passed for a few minutes.

After the 3rd lap I joined up with a couple of people who were more my pace (i.e. slow), and I think the 3 of us were last on the road, but we got a bit of through and off going and suddenly we were flying, and for a little while I forgot about the pain and really e...

Road Racing

OK - One of my goals for 2007 was to enter a road race, so far I have bought myself a road bike, joined a club and finally last night got round to joining BC and applying for a license.

Now all I need to do is actually enter the spring series - does anyone know how to actually enter the race. I have an address of the organiser, I know the fee, but I can't find an entry form, or does one appear on the BC website once my license application has been approved?

Well, I decided to brave the weather, and took the family out to the Cats Christmas Cracker Trailquest. Weather held of for most of the event, and it was a lot drier than riding on Saturday was. We rode as a team, Fiona myself and the two eldest riding, the youngest in the Burley. Didn't think we did too badly considering the kids are only 7 & 9. We covered just over 20 miles in the 3 hours, and collected 100 points, losing only 7 for being 6 minutes late.

If you are interested here is the route we followed.
